I know we are a little late to the party, but with all the Flappy madness this past month, we couldn’t help but join in and create our own submission to the Flappy Jam.

To be honest, at first we weren’t sure if we were going to actually submit anything.  But after seeing Terry Cavanagh’s awesome, Maverick Bird (seriously go play this now), which feels like a perfect blend of Flappy Bird and Super Hexagon, we figured maybe we can do something similar with our game Super Stickman Golf 2®.

So instead of the traditional controls for the SSG games, we decided to rip everything out and use the now famous “flap” mechanic to get to the hole.  Each course has its own “flap count” instead of pars and a simple star rating to go with it.  There are no characters, hats, power-ups, levels or anything like that. We just reused all the same courses and separated them per hole, removing the need to par an entire course to move on.

[Update] – The game also will not ship with any multiplayer.  However if there is enough interest we might throw it in for an update.

The game was put together in only a couple days so there isn’t much more to it than that. However I have to admit were actually quite surprised with how fun the flap mechanic is using SSG physics and terrain.  It makes seasoned SSG2 players approach the game in a whole new way.

We submitted a version today and it should hit iTunes soon for Free pending any rejections. It will also be on Android probably sooner than iTunes since there is no approval time.

Cheers!
